Day one — the 72Knots Continuity Guarantee

You receive the fully documented source code for your property.

With your installation comes the complete source code and full build-and-run instructions for your system — licensed for use at your property. You already hold it. Nothing needs to be released, nothing is held in escrow, nothing has to be triggered.

What we add on top is a commitment: defined response and support levels, written into your agreement. If we can't honor them, you're free to maintain the system yourself or bring in any engineering team you choose — no permission needed, no penalty, no gap in your operation. Your operation is never hostage to our circumstances.

And in the AI era, that guarantee has real teeth: with the source and documentation in hand, any AI coding service can rebuild and stand up your system — about $100 of compute, in under 72 hours, in full. What those 72 hours didn't include: knowing which behavior was correct. That came from 22 years on the curb, and from months of describing, building, testing, and testing again until the system did what an operation actually needs at 2am. Not a data export. One photo checks a car in.

The attendant photographs the car; AI reads the license plate, make, model, and color and fills the ticket — noting visible damage while it's at it. Common makes and models are tap grids, not keyboards, and the ticket number itself sets transient, overnight, or monthly type with the expected checkout date. The guest is out of the driver's seat in seconds.

Evidence

Every car documented, every touch on the record.

Up to four time-stamped walk-around photos attach to the ticket at intake and stay with the vehicle's record for good. Behind them, a full custody log: who checked it in, who parked it, who pulled the keys, who delivered it — each step stamped with a name and a time. When a guest says the scratch wasn't there, you're showing the photo from 4:12 PM, not arguing.

Attendant photos are the first layer. The second is the lane: fixed cameras at garage entry and exit document every vehicle's condition at the threshold — on the way in and on the way out. The same AI that reads an attendant's photo reads the lane footage: plate, make, model, color, visible damage — matched to the ticket automatically, timestamped at the exact moment the car crossed your line.

A guest's claim now meets two independent records: what the lane saw at entry, and what the attendant photographed at intake. The condition conversation is over before it starts — in your favor, with evidence from before your team ever held the keys.

Lane hardware is standard IP cameras — no proprietary gates, no per-lane subscriptions. Designed into the platform; scoped and installed per property during rollout.

Dispatch

Requests route themselves.

Retrieval requests hit a live queue with zone-aware assignment. Attendants get an instant push, the requested car appears on every board, and the live garage map computes which vehicles are blocking it — the hardest problem in stack parking, answered on screen instead of shouted across a ramp.

Revenue control

Every dollar has a name attached.

Every cashier works inside a drawer window. Closing the drawer prints totals by method — cash, card, tap, comp, room charge — computes counted-cash over or under, and files a dated close report. Comps and voids record the pre-adjustment value, the reason, and who authorized them. Tips ride on card payments. Drawer windows chain with no gaps, so there is no hour of the day that belongs to nobody.

This is the part of the industry we know best. Revenue control isn't a feature here — it's the reason the system exists.

Continuity

The internet drops. The stand doesn't.

Arrivals and updates queue locally on each device — photos included — and replay automatically the moment connectivity returns. Every queued transaction carries an idempotency key, so syncing can never duplicate a ticket or double-charge a guest. Boards fall back to their last-known state and label themselves honestly.

Parking structures kill Wi-Fi. We designed for the garage you actually have, not the one in the brochure.

Architecture

Your server. Your building. Your control.

ValetParking.ai runs on an on-site server — yours. The system, the database, and the evidence trail live inside your building, behind your security, with the POS terminals and PCs on your floor talking to it directly. Large properties don't put a revenue operation and their guests' vehicles on someone else's cloud, and we never ask them to.

Who built it

Designed on the curb. Written by the same hands.

I parked the cars myself for eight years. Then I built AVPMi — the system that became the industry's standard, deployed in airports, hotels, hospitals, and casinos across 12 countries — and sold it in 2016.

Back then, everything I designed passed through a layer of hired software teams. There was always a translation between what the floor needed and what got built — and some of what I could see clearly on the curb never made it through that translation.

That layer is gone now. AI removed the middleman, and for the first time the person who designed the system is the person who wrote it. ValetParking.ai is the system I always meant to build — every screen shaped by someone who has counted a drawer at 2 AM, run a Friday-night rush, and answered for a damage claim in person.
